Poem in Urdu and English

نفرتوں کی ہے آگ ہر سو
منافقت کا دھواں دھواں ہے
بتاؤ کیا کہیں ایسے میں ہم
جل رہا دل کا لُواں لُواں ہے
نفرتوں کے آلاؤ بجھانے کو
محبتوں کو نچھاور کر دو
منافقت کو نکال پھینکو
لبادے جھوٹے اتار پھینکو
سچے دل سے ملو سبھی سے
کدورتوں کو نکال پھینکو
زندگی ہے یہ چار دن کی
محبتوں سے گزارو اسکو
جب بھی تم ملو کسی سے
رفاقتوں سے سنوارو اسکو
یہ جو پھیلی ہے آگ نفرت کی
محبتوں سے بجھاؤ اسکو
فرقہ بندی ہو یا نسل پرستی
مٹا کے تم یہ فرق سارے
انسانیت کی بات کرکے
محبتوں سے سجاؤ اسکو
وطن کی مٹی ہے ماں ہماری
خدارا نہ تم جلاؤ اسکو
مذہب کے نام پر اے چند لوگو
لگا رکھی ہے جو آگ تم نے
سچ کے بادل برسا کے ان پر
محبتوں سے بجھاؤ اسکو
وطن میرا ہے مثلِ جنت
بھائی چارے سے سجاؤ اسکو
نفرتوں کی ہے آگ ہر سو
خدارا محبتوں سے بجھاؤ اسکو

hatred’s fire is everywhere
the smoke of hypocrisy

every part of my heart is burning
to extinguish the fire of hatred

show love
kick out our ill will
throw out the torrents of lies
and meet everyone with a true heart

life is short
spend it with love
whenever you meet someone
make it beautiful with kindness

fire of hatred which spreads
turn it off with love –
erase all these differences
sectarianism and racism
let’s talk about our humanity
and embellish it with love

our land is our Mother
for God’s sake don’t burn her
in the name of religion, O people
let the clouds of truthfulness turn into showers
vanish it with love

my country is like a paradise
make it up with brotherhood

hatred’s fire is everywhere
for God’s sake
end it up with love…
