We want to hear from you!

We would like to invite writers and artists with lived experiences as refugees to submit original and unpublished work for consideration for The Unheard Project, a literary magazine published by Borderless360.

For writers

We welcome works of fiction (short stories, novel excerpts), poetry, and non-fiction (journalism and personal essays). Longer-form submissions should range between 800 – 1,000 words in length, while poems should be at least three pages in length (e.g. three 1-page poems, or a single 3-page poem). We are unfortunately unable to consider academic essays or research papers for The Unheard Project.

While we are working actively towards featuring content in multiple languages in the near future, we are for the time being seeking pieces written for publication in English. However, if your submission includes a translation, please provide a copy of the work in the source language, as well as information on the translator(s) so we can follow up accordingly on permissions.

For visual artists

We welcome artists working with photography, video, or mixed media. Please include high-resolution versions (~300 DPI) of the artwork where possible.

For other types of submissions not covered by this notice, please feel free to get in touch!

The Unheard Project is published biannually (January and July), but we accept rolling submissions.

All submissions and queries can be sent to hello@borderless360.org.
